THE NO PROMISES NEWSLETTER
An Air Capital Disc Golf Club (ACDC) publication

IT’S DISC GOLF TIME!

Hey guys, I survived another tax season and am again attempting this Newsletter thing. Still no promises as to regularity or content but, the more news you give me, the more often I’ll do this newsletter.

So, as I said last time, bring on the news!

TIME TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP!

It’s time to renew your ACDC membership again. Even if you don’t participate or use the club benefits much, we would encourage you to join. The more members we can go to the city with, the more they are likely to help us financially with improving the current courses and adding new courses.

Anyway, enclosed is a 2001 membership application. You will notice some rule changes that will affect you if you do not have your dues paid by May 1, 2001. The dues have remained at $15. Please complete it and get it along with your $15 payment to Buddy or Bob as soon as possible.

Remember, the more members we have, the better the club will be, so invite all of your friends, enemies, etc.

RULE CHANGE.

You will need to have your club dues paid by April 30, 2001 in order to win 50% of the ACE FUND money. After that date, you will be treated as a nonmember for ace fund purposes if haven't paid your dues before you made the ace.

E-MAIL.

If you have an E-mail address, make sure that you put it on your membership form. We can then use E-mail instead of club nights, word-of-mouth or the post office to get news to you more quickly and economically.

OAK PARK CHANGES.

If you haven’t been to Oak Park lately, you need to go see it. New pin and/or tee placements have been added to holes #1 thru #6. With these changes, the course has become longer, more interesting and much more challenging.

We will need your help in the near future pouring and moving tee pads. Please help improve your club by volunteering to assist in this improvement. See Bill Paulson or Buddy about this.

KDGA TOUR

Wichita made a good showing at the Indian Rock tournament in Salina on April 22 & 23. Ron Unruh won the Advanced Am division and Lewis Thompson won the Intermediate or AM II division. Other "cashes" were Iqbal in Open; Bill Paulson in Masters; Toby Austin in Advanced; Jeff Ring in Am II; and Brad Roeder, JR. in juniors. In fact, most of the Wichita guys that went to that tournament cashed. Toby hit an Ace on his last hole in the last round to get a share of the Ace fund.

Congratulations everyone!

A KDGA schedule has been posted at Herman Hill. You can also get the schedule online at www.networksplus.net/underpar or at www.cheapfrisbees.com/acdc.

We encourage you all to try out a few of these tournaments. If you need a ride, ask around, someone will probably be glad to take a little "gas money" to endure your company.

PRIZE CHANGE FOR AM’S.

We are going to try out awarding "play money" or credits to AM’s instead of Discs. These "credits" will then be used with the Club like real money to purchase Discs, Bags, snacks, etc. The pay-out will be equal to the pay-out for the open players. Hutchinson has had a good experience doing this with its laminated "Hutch Bucks". Club members will then get their discs at $1.00 off the list price where everyone else will have to pay full value.

We are interested in your thoughts on this idea.

Also, we would like to order the discs that you want. Please make a list of the discs that you would like for us to order and give it to Buddy or Bob.

Ace fund at 4/24/2001 = $322
